iDB Tutorial (cont.)
'Books' ApplicationThis application is designed for keeping track of books inventory. It can provide a
view on the Record List screen sorted by Title, Author, or Genre. As in any other
alphabetical orders, some 20+ records would kick-in alphabet index column on the right
side of the screen for Title or Author based sorting. (It is not seen below only because
there there are not enough records to trigger the option.)
![]() Record Details screen is provided below. 'Genre' is a standard text-picker
field. (See 'Notes' category for an overview of
text-picker fields). As such, it is populated by unique 'genre' values wihin the same

'Patients' ApplicationRequested by some customers in the medical field, this database keeps track of patients, their diagnosis, applied procedures and surgeons. The sorting options on the Record List screen are alphabetical {first, lastname},
{lastname, firstname}, and numerical record number, and the most recently updated. When
sorted by record number, the highest number (presumably one of the most recent ones)
shows up at the top (decending order), so is the most recent record when sorted by
update time:
![]() Record Details is given below. Date-of-birth, and procedure-date fields are date-pickers. They would turn into transparent buttons, and when pushed, they would pop-up relevant date pickers for easy data entry. Both procedure fields, and surgeon and anesthesiologist fields are text pickers
populated by existing records. (See 'Notes' category for
an overview of text-pickers):
